March 16, 2024 - Women Entrepreneur Award 2024
On March 16, 2024, SWAR organized the Women Entrepreneur Award - 2024 at the Regional Institute of Education in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The event celebrated and honored 10 women entrepreneurs for their achievements across various fields. The awards aimed to recognize their contributions and inspire more women to pursue entrepreneurship.
December 6, 2023 - Constitution Day at KBDAV College
On December 6, 2023, Constitution Day was celebrated at KBDAV College in Nirakarpur, Khurda, Odisha. The observance included a National Quiz designed to engage participants in understanding and appreciating the Constitution. This event was a part of broader efforts to promote constitutional knowledge and awareness among the students and the community.
December 6, 2023 - National Quiz at Utkal University
On December 6, 2023, a National Quiz was held at Utkal University, Vanivihar, in observance of Constitution Day. This event was organized in collaboration with the History Department and the School of Women’s Studies. Approximately 40 postgraduate and Ph.D. students participated in the quiz, which was attended by the Director of Women’s Studies as well. The quiz aimed to raise awareness and knowledge about the Constitution, its significance, and its impact on society.
November 10, 2023 - December 18, 2023 - EDP Training Programs
From November 10, 2023, to December 18, 2023, SWAR, Odisha conducted a series of EDP (Entrepreneurship Development Programme) training awareness programs across three locations: Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Kalapathar, within the districts of Cuttack and Khurda. The sessions, sponsored by SIDBI, aimed to foster entrepreneurship among women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and youth. A total of 140 beneficiaries attended these programs. The training focused on registering for Government Schemes and expanding businesses.
September 9, 2023 - Stress and Storm Talk
On September 9, 2023, a talk titled "Stress and Storm in the Golden Period of Adolescence" was held at Raja Madhusudan Degree College, Patia, Bhubaneswar. This event, organized exclusively for girl students and female teachers, was arranged by Raja Madhusudan Mahavidyalaya Patia in collaboration with SWAR. The keynote speaker, Nayana Sahasrabuddhe, National Vice President of Bharatiya Stree Shakti, delivered an insightful address on managing stress and navigating challenges during adolescence.
September 8, 2023 - Women in Decision Making Roles Seminar
On September 8, 2023, a seminar titled “Women in Decision Making Roles in Corporate” was held at the Auditorium of Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. The event was organized by Bharatiya Stree Shakti Bhubaneswar in collaboration with the National Commission for Women (#NCW) and the School of Women Studies at Utkal University. The seminar focused on "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion" and included an Odissi dance performance and a soulful song.

The Chief Speaker highlighted the importance of "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion," emphasizing the significant contributions women are making in boardrooms.
May 13, 2023 - 35th Foundation Day of Bharatiya Stree Shakti
On May 13, 2023, SWAR organized an informal Mahila Sammelan on the occasion of the 35th Foundation Day of Bharatiya Stree Shakti (BSS). The event focused on the theme "Desh Bikash Mei Mahilaon Ki Sahabhagita" (Women's Contribution to National Development) and featured a diverse group of attendees, including housewives, women from various NGOs, and professors.
March 14, 2023 - Health Check-Up Event
To mark International Women’s Day on March 14, 2023, SWAR, in collaboration with WCSE, organized a health check-up event in Bhubaneswar. The activities included health check-ups for diabetes and blood pressure, and the distribution of sanitary napkins to support menstrual hygiene.
March 4, 2023 - Pattachitra Making Training Program
A 15-day training program on Pattachitra Making was conducted at Swabalambi Mahila Sashakta Bharat in Cuttack from March 4, 2023. The program aimed to impart skills in the traditional art of Pattachitra, enhancing participants' craft and cultural knowledge.
January 18, 2023 - Pattachitra Making Training Program
A 15-day training program focused on Pattachitra Making was held at Swabalambi Mahila Sashakta Bharat in Bhubaneswar starting January 18, 2023. The program aimed to provide participants with specialized skills in this traditional art form.
December 12, 2022 - Fabric Painting and Clay Jewelry Design Training
A 15-day training program on Fabric Painting and Clay Jewelry Design was conducted at Swabalambi Mahila Sashakta Bharat in Anugul starting December 12, 2022. The program was attended by 20 women, who gained valuable skills in these creative disciplines.
November 16, 2022 - Fabric Painting and Jewelry Design Training
A 15-day training program focusing on Fabric Painting and Jewelry Design was conducted at Swabalambi Mahila Sashakta Bharat in Jatani from November 16, 2022. The program successfully trained 25 women, equipping them with valuable skills for economic self-reliance and creative expression.
November 5, 2022 - Inaugural Ceremony of Swabalambi Mahila Sashakta Bharat
The inaugural ceremony of "Swabalambi Mahila Sashakta Bharat" was held on November 5, 2022, at Jaidev Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, to advance the Prime Minister's "Vocal for Local" initiative. SWAR showcased its commitment to supporting local women artisans by conducting livelihood programs that help them refine their craft and achieve global recognition. The event celebrated the achievements of 10 women entrepreneurs and was attended by 140 people.
August 22, 2022 - Thinking Positive: Nurturing Wellbeing
A counseling session titled "Thinking Positive: Nurturing Wellbeing" was held at Jupiter College on August 22, 2022. Dr. Uday Nath Dash, Former Head of the Department of Psychology at Utkal University, led the session. The event was attended by 100 girls and 182 boys, focusing on fostering a positive mindset and promoting overall wellbeing among 12th class students.
August 7, 2022 - Empowering Women Through Library Workshop
A 2-day workshop on "Empowering Women Through Library" was held at Jupiter College, Ganapada, Khurda on August 7, 2022. The workshop was organized in collaboration with Jupiter College and sponsored by the Raja Ram Mohan Library Foundation. The event featured distinguished guests and aimed to explore how libraries can empower women through access to information and educational opportunities.
July 12, 2022 - Swabalambi Mahila Sashakta Bharat Seminar
SWAR organized a seminar on "Swabalambi Mahila Sashakta Bharat" at Jai Bharat Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on July 12, 2022. The event featured distinguished guests and included the award of certificates to 60 participants who completed the skill training program. Community social workers were also honored for their contributions.

SWAR conducted a 3-day skill development training program in Jatni, Khurda, focusing on Fabric Painting and Jewelry Design from June 23, 2022. The training aimed to equip participants with practical skills for enhancing their livelihood opportunities and fostering economic self-reliance.
May 15, 2022 - 34th Foundation Day of Bharatiya Stree Shakti
The 34th Foundation Day of Bharatiya Stree Shakti was celebrated at Jupiter Women’s College, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar on May 15, 2022. The event featured addresses from distinguished speakers, including Smt. Sabita Acharya and Smt. Namrata Chadha, and a Zoom address by Mrs. Sailaja Andhare from Ahmedabad.
February 2, 2022 - Seminar on Raising the Legal Marriage Age
SWAR, in collaboration with Madhyam and RMS College, organized a seminar on February 2, 2022, to discuss the importance of raising the legal marriage age for women from 18 to 21. The event featured Ms. Rekha Sharma, Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, and was attended by 150 girls who engaged in a meaningful discussion on this proposed change.
